I'm Sam Olabamiji, and I build the systems other people's products stand on.

I've spent more than a decade building software, from web apps for a design studio's clients to backend systems in telecoms, banking, insurance and healthcare. Much of that work is the part nobody sees: data models, gateways, and services that have to stay up when traffic grows.

Today I'm on League's platform team, building the AI and platform tools behind its healthcare agents. Along the way I've led backend teams, designed microservices, and built API gateways that handle thousands of requests a second.

I've been building my own products since 2017, when I launched Lawstrive to make legal help free to ask for. Today I run BookMolly, a booking platform used by more than 500 businesses across Nigeria.

On the side I build projects I think should exist: Pistizo, a free guide to the foundations of the Christian faith, and Systems Design Lab, an open-source course where you learn systems design by running real infrastructure.

I speak to developers, students and people finding their way into tech, about AI agents, systems design and building a career in software, in person in Lagos and Ibadan and online.

The biggest room so far was a panel at Tech Cirvee Fest, a festival that brought more than 7,000 people to Ibadan.

My first job in tech was teaching people to write their first programs, and I never really stopped. Today I run the Dev Mentorship Community, where more than 350 developers get free mentorship on the way from learning to code to landing the job. This year I'm teaching a systems design series there.

I write on more than one subject. One of them is theology: on my Substack, I work through the Bible one series at a time.
